Ocean in a bottle

On a strong spring (used for swings) there is a transparent plastic barrel. Approximately one third is filled with water with some blue dye, the rest is filled with oil up to the brim. The barrel is hermetically sealed and there is no air inside. The visitors sway the barrel, which generates waves similar to waves on the sea.
